CopyCalm · Windows 10 / 11

When Windows clipboard history (Win+V) is not enough

Open Windows clipboard history with Win+V for short-term reuse. CopyCalm provides longer-lived local history, search for copied text and quick access to frequent snippets. Searching text inside images is planned; on-demand text extraction is available today.

What Win+V keeps

Clipboard history is switched on in Settings › System › Clipboard. Microsoft documents a limit of 25 items, support for text, HTML and images under 4 MB, and that everything except pinned items is cleared when the PC restarts. It is designed for short-term use, not as an archive.

Signs you have outgrown it

  1. You copy the same address, email or command again several times a week.
  2. You remember copying something yesterday, but it is gone after a restart.
  3. You need to find a screenshot by the words in it.
  4. You want some apps, such as a password manager, kept out of history.

How CopyCalm handles the same job

CopyCalm opens with Ctrl+Alt+Space and keeps history in a local SQLite database in your Windows user profile. How much it keeps is set in Settings rather than fixed at a small count, favourites are never cleaned up automatically, entries you actually reuse rise in the list, and nothing is uploaded.

You can keep using Win+V alongside it. CopyCalm does not replace or change the Windows clipboard history setting.
